56LA28623M In 1956 Mercury produced and marketed a low silhouette 4 door hardtop model as a Phaeton.
The car earned quick acclaim and would continue being a stand out amongst early '50's cars for their exceptional styling and sound engineering.
The Montclair did resist the extreme fin temptation, preferring to set the car apart in its own way.
The Monterey was available as a convertible, sedan, a pillar-less coupe and station wagon.
