3947 The name DeVille is derived from the Fresh de la Ville or de Ville meaning of the town.
The first Cadillac Coupe de Ville was shown during the 1949 Motorama, it was among the first pillarless hardtop coupes ever produced.
The Deville was redesigned for 1965 but rode on the same 129.
5-inch wheelbase.
Tailfins were canted downward, and sharp, distinct body lines replaced the rounded look.
Also, a straight rear bumper and vertical lamp clusters were new for the model.
The headlight pairs switch from horizontal to vertical, giving it a wider grill and curved frameless windows appeared.
More interior lighting and front and rear safety belts became standard features.
Power was still supplied by the 340 horsepower V8.
In 1966, the grille gained a horizontal center bar housing rectangular parking lamps at the outer ends.
This beautiful 1966 Cadillac Deville is finished is a custom gloss black paint job with orange and black flames spreading from the hood back down the doors.
The rear quarter panel script plates were removed but rear and front emblems stay intact.
