Full Carbon GT Zaskar Comp 27.5 / 29er Hardtail Mountain Bike XL Frame new for sale in Salt Lake City, UT
Very clean GT Zaskar Comp FULL carbon fiber hardtail mountain bike.$4000 newXL frame size is ideal for taller fellas... (+/- 6'-1" to 6'-4" per GT's sizing charts)... but could certainly work for someone a bit shorter. (I'm 5'-10" and ride it comfortably.) Just depends on the type of riding you're doing and the level rider you are. Overall in very good condition. Shifts and brakes perfectly.A full carbon bike is going to be lighter and more compliant than most alloy bikes. The Zaskar is a great all-around bike. (If you're doing a lot of fast / steep downhill riding you'll obviously want a full suspension bike with longer travel. But for just about everything else, this bike is spot on.)100mm Rockshox Recon fork was just completely rebuilt by Contender (I have receipt)***2x 10 SRAM drivetrain with Elixir hydro brakes (rear just bled by Contender) (I have the receipt)Nice Ksyrium CrossRoc Disc 27.5 wheelset with newer tires (upgraded from original wheels)(can also run 29ers with this frame / fork if prefered)This model / platform is generally considered / marketed as an XC / Cross Country bike.Ready for the trails today. Needs nothing. Will include either RaceFace platform pedals shown in pics or Shimano SPD's if you prefer... or some nice / newer Crank Bros Eggbeater 3's. Your choice.*** A quick note about suspensions in general: If you are buying a used bike with suspension elements (front fork and/or rear shock) you need to have those check out by a professional / shop if seller cannot provide proof that they have been serviced or rebuilt recently. Because all decent suspension elements have a service schedule and a useful life cycle. The rebuild / service on this fork was only around $100 with a complete set of new seals and o-rings, fluid, etc. But for a higher end fork it can easily run into the hundreds... and the same with many rear shocks. So, if you're not too bike / suspension savvy--err on the side of caution. When I was dropping this bike off at Contender they told me a gal had come in with a nice used mountain bike she just bought the day before... and the rear shock was completely blown... and was gonna cost $350+ to rebuild or $500-ish to replace... and she had no idea about this issue when she bought the bike.(Be extra careful with Cannondale bikes that have proprietary suspensions like Lefty's and Headshoks... because almost nobody services those... not even Cannondale (unless the bike / shock is still under warranty). There's like one guy in country back east that you have to mail your Cannondale fork / shock to for service... so it's a pain in the ass, takes a long time, and isn't particularly cheap. I've done it.)And as the new owner of any bike, make sure you educate yourself on the service intervals of any suspension elements. Owning nice things costs a little money. But if you get out and ride the bike... it's definitely worth it. :)+/- 2013 / 2014 framesetI'm in the 9th and 9th area of SLC.
