OverviewAvalon Health Care Management, Inc.
is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join our Legal Department as part of our Corporate Counsel team!The Employment Attorney will provide employment-related legal advice while reporting to the Vice President of Legal.
The ideal candidate will manage labor relations and contract negotiations, grievances, and arbitrations.
Employment Law experience, including experience in conducting internal investigations, drafting EEOC, and state agency position statements is required.

Investigate and defend state and federal charges of discrimination, wage/hour audits, and other regulatory complaints, including preparation of position statements and other responsive documents;Conduct internal investigations related to employment law and corporate compliance matters;Support VP, Legal in research, advice, and counsel related to employment laws and regulations;Manage employment-related litigation matters and oversee outside counsel on such matters;To support the HR team in labor relations matters such as the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, handling of union grievances, labor arbitrations, and ULP charges, implementation of union avoidance best practices and respond to labor organizing campaigns;Support the drafting of employment, settlement, and separation agreements;Support employment-related hotline investigations Assist in development and presentation of education and training materials to HR and business stakeholders;Assist in employment-related aspects of company special projects such as mergers/acquisitions, as well as reductions in force and location closings (e.
g.
, severance, WARN Act);Support preparation of materials for quarterly reporting up of employment law and compliance matters to senior executive leadership and Compliance team.
QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceJuris Doctorate degree (J.
D.
) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in at least one state with the ability to become licensed in Utah At least five (5) years of employment law experienceExperience investigating and defending state and federal charges of discrimination, wage/hour audits, and other regulatory complaints, including preparation of position statements and other responsive documentsExperience conducting internal investigations Exceptional written communication skillsExceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational and problem-solving skillsWage and Hour/FLSA experienceHigh level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a proactive and service-oriented mannerExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential informationDemonstrated ability to work on a variety of projects at the same time, to prioritize, and meet deadlinesSelf-starter with a strong work ethicSome overnight travel is requiredPreferred Education and ExperienceLabor relations experience a plus.
Experience as First or second chair negotiating with collective bargaining unions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
