This position is located in the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Radiology Service. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work; Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees; Evaluate work performance of subordinates; Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters; Interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such position, Hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level manager; Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases; Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training; Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed; Develop performance standards. Coordination of VISN internal facility Requests i.e., orders requesting exams to be coordinated and performed at the SLCVA facility. Ensures all Radiology medical support staff fully utilizes the VistA scheduling package 100% of the time. Emphasizing the importance of documenting all patient encounters in CPRS and following the Scheduling Guidelines. Approves access required menus to include:
pending reports, hold reports, and other correspondences and assignments. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized experience Must have at least one(1) full year of specialized experience to the GS-07 level in the federal service to qualify for the GS-09. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Evidence of Specialized experience must be supported on the resume by detailed documentation of the duties preformed in the positions held. Specialized experience to include:
Integration of clinical support programs; ensuring effective communication between sub-specialty clinical sections; management level involvement and enterprise workflow with administrative oversight of specific software platforms for scheduling, protocolling, and reporting of imaging examinations; Plan, assign and evaluate work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work; Interview candidates and recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment; Hear and resolve complaints from employees; Effect minor disciplinary measures; Develop Performance Standards. Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL. M if related. Note:

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond Master's degree.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
