30 p.m. (Mountain Time) on the initial cut-off date of 11/25/2020. Monitors all incoming traffic through the major checkpoints as VA Salt Lake City Health Care System (VASLCHCS). Conducts screening to incoming traffic to the VA Salt Lake City Campus. Ensures all employees, patients, contractors visitors and other are checked for validity of visits to VASLCHCS. Provides required equipment to incoming patrons, to include face masks and wrist bands Work independently and or as a part of the team. Determine the differences of both physical and psychological effects Uses and follows proper hand hygiene, universal precautions and general infection control principles. Educates, role models, and assists inpatients/residents and families in adhering to infection control principles throughout the facility. Recognizes and institutes appropriate action in emergency situations such as performing CPR, Heimlich maneuver for choking, seizure precautions and safety during seizures, and emergency first aid. Establishes and promotes effective interpersonal relationships and communications with inpatients/residents, families and others. Wears VA name badge above waist at all times Maintains safe and sanitary environment for inpatients/residents, staff and visitors Reports and removes safety hazards; utilizes correct moving and transferring techniques Performs other duties as assigned. Duties require extensive periods of standing and walking. Working with employees, patients, visitors and others requires regular and recurring bending, lifting (not to exceed 35 pounds), reaching, carrying, stooping, stretching and similar activities. Shifts will be outdoors and subject to extreme weather conditions. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-03 grade level:
Six (6) months of specialized, experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes but is not limited to:
Ability to work independently and or as a part of a team. Knowledge of proper hand hygiene, universal precautions and general infection control principles. Ability to instruct and assists inpatients/residents and families in adhering to infection control principles throughout the facility. Recognizing and instituting appropriate action in emergency situations such as performing CPR, Heimlich maneuver for choking, seizure precautions and safety during seizures, and emergency first aid. Establishing and promoting effective interpersonal relationships and communications with inpatients/residents, families and others. Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for inpatients/residents, staff and visitors. Reporting and removing safety hazards; utilizing correct moving and transferring techniques OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-03 level which is:
Successful completion of 1 year of study that included study in medical, health, or related fields. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-03 level. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-03. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
