ASSOCIATE SERVICE CHIEF

The incumbent is the director of all Pharmacy Technician Intern/training affiliates. In addition is an adjunct professor to the University Of Utah School Of Pharmacy and participates in learning programs for Pharmacy Interns. Provides leadership in the establishment and maintenance of a system of Personnel Management that includes utilization of boards, functional statements, position descriptions, and organizational charts for the selection, orientation, performance evaluation, and discipline for Pharmacy Service employees. Performance Appraisal and Standards-Provide leadership to insure appropriate review of hybrid Title 3 8 and bargaining unit employees' performance in accordance to established personnel regulations. Develops an interactive relationship with other VISN facilities to control budget expenditures in conjunction with VISN plans, workloads and cost savings initiatives other eligible beneficiaries are furnished quality drugs, and medical supplies for diagnosis, treatment and relief of their conditions consonant with applicable regulations. (1) Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. (2) Graduates of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educational requirement if the graduate is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). Licensure.Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registration if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. A pharmacist who has, or has ever had, any license(s) revoked, suspended, denied, restricted, limited, or issued/placed in a probationary status may be appointed only in accordance with the provisions in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section B, paragraph 16. English Language Proficiency. Pharmacists must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of Experience as an Inpatient or Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor in a 1A Facility, along with a Six Sigma Lean Certification. Grade Determinations for GS-14:
(a) Experience. In addition to the GS-13 requirements, must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. (b) Demonstrated KSAs:
a. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to persuade and influence clinical and management decisions. b. Expert understanding of regulatory and quality standards for their program area. c. Ability to solve problems, coordinate and organize responsibilities to maximize outcomes in their program area or area of clinical expertise. d. Expert knowledge of a specialized area of clinical pharmacy practice or specialty area of pharmacy. e. Advanced skill in monitoring and assessing the outcome of drug therapies, including physical assessment and interpretation of laboratory and other diagnostic parameters. Must be able to perform all activities of the position without restriction. This position involves extensive walking to meet with the VAMC Pentad, Clinic Leads, Administrative Leads, HAS staff, and other clinic personnel. Trips to satellite outpatient clinics are sometimes necessary and will involve transportation via station vehicle or privately owned vehicle.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
