RN- Arrhythmia Nurse Coordinator

The major roles of the Arrhythmia Nurse Coordinator include (1) use of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the patient pre and post procedure (2) leadership in the education of the patient, family/significant other and the health care team members (3) documentation of the management of that care (4) coordination of the EP consult referral program for VISN 19 and (5) management of the remote home monitoring program for PM and ICD devices (6) interrogate and reprogram pacemakers and defibrillators (7) arrange the EP procedures. The Arrhythmia Nurse Coordinator functions as an integral part of the Cardiac Arrhythmia team, working in collaboration with Interns, Residents, Attending Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other health care professionals to enhance the overall care of patients with arrhythmia problems and/or devices. Performs device interrogations, device reprogramming, and device management Educates patients on arrhythmia and device related issues and post op management Performs complex patient assessments and documents findings accordingly Orders labs, radiological studies, and pre-procedure tests per protocol. Collaborates with Arrhythmia providers to review consults for arrhythmia related care and implement treatment plan. Works closely with device vendors to address patient issues, perform device interrogations, etc. Coordinates care and transfer of pertinent records from other VA and non-VA facilities. Manages the remote home monitoring program for pacemaker and defibrillator devices. Manages any device recall and mitigations that are proposed by FDA and VA to ensure patient safety. Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. The incumbent must be able to perform all activities of the position without restriction. This position involves considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and turning. The work may involve pushing or lifting weight in excess of 50 pounds and going up and down flights of stairs. The position requires visual and auditory acuity at a level to provide safe and effective practice. This position requires travel to facilities within the VHA system and may require extended work hours to facilitate travel.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
