Engineering Technician (Radio Frequency & Digital)

L-3 Communication Systems-West (CSW) is currently seeking an Engineering Technician. The Technician will assist Engineers in performing development, test and debug on a variety of electronic products from component level to complete systems. Will be required to read and interpret diagrams, tables, schematics, and work from written test procedures as well as engineering instructions. They will be responsible for ensuring L3 policies and procedures with regards to calibration of equipment, ESD, FOD, and housekeeping are adhered to within engineering laboratories as well as other duties as assigned by your manager. May be responsible for supporting the continuous operation and maintenance of company assigned equipment or products at customer locations and to maximize customer satisfaction through job performance, mission success, and professional conduct. This will involve travel to site locations with very little advance notice.
LI-MM1
Associates degree or certificate from an accredited two-year technical or military electronics program with specialist knowledge of electronics and mechanics and a demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, wire lists, and prints.
Must be able to travel with very little notice.
Must have Security Clearance.
Basic electronic knowledge of RF and digital signals.
Good understanding of basic Digital and RF circuitry (e.g. modulation, demodulation) and be able to read schematics.
Comfortable using test equipment including RF signal generator, spectrum analyzers, power meters, power supplies, voltage meters and oscilloscopes to perform trouble shooting down to the component level.
Comfortable using PC based applications and be able to learn test software.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions using good communication skills.
Effective communication skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the engineering process.
Ability to prioritize work, be flexible and productive with little supervision.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Currently possesses solder certification IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610 or is able to acquire through training class.
Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.
Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
