Communication Specialist

Job Description
Works with department manager to develop strategic communications plans for the agency s initiatives and programs. Consults and supports in implementing internal and external communications plans. Assist in development and production of marketing and communications materials. Works with agency functional staff members to implement multi-tactical communications campaigns in a coordinated, strategic manner. Oversees workflow and production of marketing, public relations, and public involvement materials. Interfaces with agency partners and select vendors. Develops original, creative materials in printed and digital formats. Provides planning and implementation support for UTA s public hearings, open houses and other public outreach activities. Researches and evaluates opportunities for UTA to publicize its mission, objectives and services in the community via stakeholder groups and organizations. Plays a key role in planning and implementing internal and external events.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Bachelor s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Six years in a communications, public relations, advertising or marketing field.
Knowledge
Competency in graphic design and layout
Basic knowledge of photography
Basic knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn
Competency in public outreach or strategic public relations/communications planning
Skills
Journalism or public relations writing skills
This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
