Direct Care Staff

Work Activity Center, an organization serving adults who have physical and intellectual disabilities, is seeking new team members for our Day and Residentail Services. Our Direct Care staff provide gentle, cheerful care to clients in a either a day training / classroom or a residential / home setting. We currently have Full and Part time positions working M - F Days between 8 and 5 in our Day Services Group. Our Residential Services has Full and Part time positions working Swings, Graves and Weekends. We are interviewing to fill 8 spots in a training class which starts this month.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients as they participate in sensory activities that stimulate and encourage movement.
Help clients achieve individual goals.
Train clients about daily living skills.
Assist with feeding and providing personal hygiene including toileting.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently and to stand and/or walk throughout the duration of the shift.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
