Purchasing / Inventory Manager

Basic Responsibilities include:
Track inventory usage and sales to determine reorder levels
Report to the CFO
Communicate with the Sales Manager, Production Manager, Warehouse Manager, and Product Development Director
Prepare Purchase Orders and Work Orders for inventory replenishment
Minimize inventory while also minimizing out-of-stocks
Negotiate and meet with suppliers as necessary for improved price, quality, and delivery
Follow-up with suppliers on delivery time and quality
Gather, review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
Be able to analyze customer demand and market dynamics and have general industry knowledge.
Prepare and present reports for purchasing and inventory follow-up to CFO and other managers
Support the team oriented culture.
Key Competencies include:
Be able to communicate technically and openly with suppliers and co-workers
Fast and proficient with computers and ability to learn company software
Very proficient in Excel required, SQL Database knowledge a plus
Demonstration of planning and priority setting abilities
Must be able to multitask
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent math skills and understanding for usage analysis and forecasting
Self-starter, self-trainer, willingness to handle challenges and work independently
Willing to take calls from overseas suppliers after work hours when necessary

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
