Job Title: Pastry Cook
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for a particular station or group of menu items. Responsible for proper preparation, set up, and execution of high volume, high quality menu items. The culinary work in this position must all follow commitments to sustainability and proper health and safety guidelines.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Prepares baked goods such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, and cakes according to the recipes and production charts.
Checks productions schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
Review production list with Chef and prepare menu items according to standards
Measures ingredients using cups, spoons, and scales.
Mixes ingredients for product based on standard recipes by use of proper equipment.
Properly store foods in designated areas following proper dating and labeling procedures
Utilize approved food production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
Set up station and maintain section in time for service.
Properly break down and clean station after service.
Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner; resolve customer concerns
Ability to work safely with large volume culinary equipment including but not limited to slicer, large quantity mixer, robot coupe and convection ovens.
Skills/Requirements:
Our dynamic team desires an individual with:
2 or more years professional restaurant or catering kitchen experience
Good knowledge of food and catering trends
Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience
Interest in the organic and sustainable food movement
Interest in furthering your culinary career
ServSafe¬ certified is a plus
Culinary creativity and menu writing abilities.
Exhibit courtesy, tact and reasonable speed in performance of duties
Ability to follow all Bon App√ tit Health & safety standards.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
