Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of our jobs within Nucor; therefore, the Branch Manager must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The role of the Branch Manager is to provide strategic leadership and operational management for their branch and field placing operations. The Branch Manager is an integral part of the Nucor Rebar Fabrication structure and works closely with the Commercial team on executing the business strategy. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities:
o Create a Safety First culture in the Branch.o Lead operations, detailing, placing, and project management teams to ensure safety and maximize production and profitability.o Proactively drive change within the organization. Understand and promote that change is constant and we will continually strive to improve our processes workplace effectiveness.o Read, interpret, explain and consistently apply complex regulations and polices related to; Safety compliance, Environmental compliance, Purchasing requirements, Employee Relations, and best practices.o Select, lead, and develop people of different backgrounds to execute the company's objectives.o Proactively drive change and improve facility efficiency and effectiveness by managing improvement in operations and equipment reliability.o Read, interpret, and understand financial statements with the ability to project the impact of decisions on the financial results of an operation.o Provide clear and thorough written and verbal communication of issues and opportunities and deliver recommended solutions.o Represent the organization in our local communities.o Collaborate with other departments, regions, and Branch Managers to support business objectives.o Maintain awareness of rebar market dynamics and manage people, inventories, and production operations to support strategic initiatives.o Communicate significant market data to Commercial group and General Manager.o Lead and promote workplace behaviors consistent with Nucor values and core competency expectations. Minimum Requirements:
o Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.o Bachelor's degree in business or engineering discipline with min of 2 years' experience in a business environment required:
ORo Five years of reinforcing steel detailing, fabrication, placing or related steel industry experience, with demonstrated leadership ability and business management concepts. Detailed Selection Criteria:
o Developing and Building Teams - Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members as well as effectively managing and resolving conflict as needed.o Leadership Presence and Courage - Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating and supporting change, and production process issues that arise. This includes the willingness to face adversity and conflict head on.o Business Acumen - General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.o Communication Skills - The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicate information so that others will understand.o Problem Solving & Judgment/Decision Making - Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.o Coaching and Developing Others - Identifying the strengths and developmental needs of others to include coaching, mentoring, teaching, training, or otherwise helping others to improve their skills to work effectively.o Initiative/Innovative - Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges to include introducing new ideas for the continuous improvement of the work area. Preferences:
o Rebar or construction industry experience a plus. o OSHA 30 Industrial and Construction Safety Certification.o Effective communication skills across all levels of teammates within the organization.o Experience interfacing with customers and providing customer service.o Strong verbal and written communications skillso Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft products. What You Need to Know:
