3K a year 13 days ago 13 days ago 13 days ago Operations Trainer - Culinary American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise lines in the United States, is seeking a culinary focused Operations Trainer for our Salt Lake City, UT training center.
This role is responsible for leading culinary trainings, training and enforcing American Cruise Lines standards regarding all culinary job tasks, procedures, and shipboard responsibilities.
The ability to provide guests with a consistent and superior culinary experience starts with an excellent trainer.
Job Duties:
Reports directly to Operations Trainer Manager.
Collaborate with the Culinary Operations Team and Talent & Development Team to develop programs and curriculum designed towards culinary employees for their orientation, in-job, and recurring trainings.
Collaborate with the Culinary Operations and Talent Development Teams to audit our culinary procedures and training that will facilitate cross training and multi menu adaptions.
Conducts engaging in-person training sessions for all culinary staff under the guidance of the Culinary Operations and Talent & Development Teams.
Incorporates a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist trainees with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles to assist them in meeting job expectations.
Actively engage with trainees, providing clear communication regarding training schedule and expectations, orientation, travel, and training center policies.
Works with the Culinary Operations Team to assure travel, transportation, and possible hotel arrangements are processed at least 4 days prior to training class.
Work with Training Center/Warehouse Assistant to create work tickets for all culinary uniform requirements to ensure they have arrived at the training facility prior to trainee arrival.
Assist in training and enforcing all Culinary Standard Operating Procedures that coincide with American Cruise Lines and FDA standards.
Ensures training follows regulations set forth by Food and Drug Administration, US Public Health, US Coast Guard, and other regulatory organizations.
Develop core content within an e-learning platform to provide ongoing training for all culinary team members.
Act as Lead Trainer, presenting all training curriculum and delegating tasks, as appropriate, to trainees and Culinary Leadership support.
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to vessels for additional training sessions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in learning and development, customer service, hospitality, or similar field.
Preferred 2-4 years of culinary management experience at a full-service hotel, resort, country club or cruise ship.
Culinary Arts degree is preferred.
Experience with public speaking and instructional training including standing up in front of a classroom in a formal setting.
Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to inspire and engage learners.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demanding time schedule.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point.
