QA Technician 3rd Shift - 8 hr (7pm-3am) $22.77 *1.50

Conduct Quality Assurance audits for production assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.
Consult with managers of production/quality to resolve quality and production problems.
Function as an information source to department when special and critical quality issues occur.
Function in conjunction with Quality Team Leader for special department projects.
Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to product date coding at all levels of product movement.
Educate and instruct plant associates in recommended quality control testing and housekeeping practices.
Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
Consult with QA Team Leader on better operational procedures to improve overall quality programs.
Prepare QA audit logs and submit them to QA Team Leader.
Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with QA Team Leader.
Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees for this position.
Continuous line auditing (lot codes, wts, package, product quality, labels, HACCP).
Measure moisture content, acidity and alkalinity (pH values) of representative product samples, and diameters.
Monitor plant wide GMP's.
Evaluate product changeovers.
Communicate with Team Leaders, Operators, Line Associates, Production Manager, and QA Manager.
Evaluate bake-offs and trouble shoot problems when needed.
Monitor metal detector operation and other food safety equipment.
Audit product packages and boxes for proper labeling, printing and case counts.
Remove and hold for review any product that does not conform to Cookietree specifications or appears questionable.
Initiate product and ingredient HOLDS; distribute hold forms.
Keep product retains from production runs.
Other tasks as assigned by QA Team Leader of QA ManagerBACKGROUND/EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma Two to four years experience in field, laboratory, or production facility quality control.
Degree in related field preferred.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret calipers.
Experience with computers.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint strongly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.
g.
working around moving machines in production facilities, handling of hazardous testing and sanitation chemicals.
Protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves and shoes may be required.
Cold and hot extremes.
Occasional elevated noise levels.
Smoke and fumes from baked items.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is frequently required to talk and hear under noisy conditions.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Organoleptic analysis is required and the ability to distinguish flavors from baked products.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
