Quality Manager

Blue Chip Group, LLC, a manufacturing company of dry food and beverage products is seeking a qualified individual to effectively manage the quality department and food safety programs for their beverage co-packing business.
Description:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing Quality across the beverage plant.
This position is responsible for assuring product conformance to specifications, plant and process conformance to certification requirements and follows up with the production teams to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are followed.
General support of established weekly production schedules from a Quality support standpoint.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing key processes which drive food safety, process consistency and product quality.
Supervise Beverage Quality Assurance team.
Audits company practices to measure the success of the quality programs, and issues corrective actions to drive compliance and improvement.
Train, educate, coach and mentor production leads and operators in key food safety and quality processes and good manufacturing practices (GMPs requirements.
Provide expertise, guidance and leadership regarding regulatory compliance at the plant level.
Knowledge and experience in data collection, record keeping, documentation, and implementation required for all quality management systems.

, HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, OSHA, allergens, sanitation, microbiological testing, ingredients, vendor certification/approval, inbound and outbound inspections, product traceability, raw and finished product inspection, GMO, MSDS, and food safety training.
Ensures highly disciplined compliance with all product and process quality standards including, product quality evaluation, formulations, procedures, programs and systems including hold and release, recall and foreign material contamination guidelines and resolutions.
Manage the contracted food safety prerequisites.

Act as a primary liaison to corporate Quality Assurance and outside Regulatory agencies, i.

, USDA, FDA, OSHA, and Utah Department of Agriculture.
Acts as primary liaison for customer quality concerns/complaint issues.
Ensures all Quality reports are collected regularly, reported monthly to Senior Leadership/Corporate Quality.
Demonstrates commitment to and follows all company policies, ergonomic standards and safety requirements from OSHA, BCG and the location as well as Federal and State regulations which includes the ability to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations regarding lockout/tag out, hot work, fall protection etc.
Demonstrates commitment to and follows all local, state and federal regulations/laws and company policies regarding employment and workplace behavior.
Qualifications/Education:
6
years of experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
2
years of FSQA Management experience in a beverage manufacturing environment.
Four-year college degree in quality control/manufacturing or Science.
5-7 years of quality experience applying a comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of statistical process control, design of experiments, TQM, Six Sigma etc.
Experience introducing new products, materials, and processes required.
Prior quality management experience required.
Demonstrated management and training experience of quality specialists, quality auditors and process documentation development.
Experience with USDA, FDA, OSHA, HACCP, ISO 9000-22000, SQF, or equivalent Food Safety standard and regulations.
Experience in developing and/or maintaining facility Environmental Monitoring for microbial hazards desired.
Experience with CIPs and sanitation process to mitigate food safety and improve quality.
Midlevel understanding of microbiology and food science.
Experience with microbial testing methods and material analytical methods desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a broad variety of departments.
Ability to positively and comfortably handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with self-motivation and focused attention to detail.
Organizational and customer service skills essential.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems.
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to travel occasionally, work in a team environment, and occasionally work a flexible schedule.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Other Skills/Abilities Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task and prioritize.
Able to pass a drug and background test.
