Summary:
The Production Manager on Second Shift will have direct responsibility for Assembly and Final Assembly, Finish, Glazing, and Metal departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Manage production areas assigned, including schedule, associated costs and budgets, quality control, and time allocation while following company policies, procedures, and applications.
Troubleshoot problems with machinery and systems within the shop to ensure all equipment is functioning accurately.
Responsible for the safety and security of the building after hours.
Ensure schedules are maintained and projects proceed according to plans.
Provide support, expertise, leadership, and accountability to their team.
Guide strategic planning for the direction and control of projects, including shop capacity.
Formulate short and long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
Assure that department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
Coordinate with others for the best solutions.
Oversee employee safety within the department.
Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role of both manager and support resource/mentor.
Hire, direct, and train staff to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments.
Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding customer requirements.
Report to senior management on progress and any necessary modifications of plans.
Determine appropriate revenue recognition measures and ensure timely and accurate reporting of project costs.
Understand basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Preferred:
10
years of industry experience, with at least five years in a supervisory position.
Skills:
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
Familiarity with manufacturing standards and operations.
Knowledge of AWI Standards.
Knowledge of sustainable building practices is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills.
Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on initiative.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Business-related computer skills WORKING CONDITIONS:
Varied hours will be required as necessary.
Some travel may be required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration.
The employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and often uses power equipment such as orbital sanders, table saws, and routers.
There is sawdust in every area of production.
Some areas of production can be very loud.
While temperature control is attempted, there can be great temperature variations.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
