In this newly created role, Savage is seeking a Manager, Government Affairs to be responsible for the development, oversight and execution of government affairs strategy and activities representing Savage to federal, state, or local government officials and agencies to support the company's legislative, policy and funding agenda to further growth.
Requires understanding of the political landscape and existing network, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Create and execute Savage's government affairs/public policy strategy, including developing legislative and policy agenda to share with key levels of government Partners with Savage leaders, industry or trade associations and other third-party consultants to communicate and deliver on Savage's strategy Collaborate with internal teams (legal, communications, marketing, etc.
) to develop and execute integrated strategies that align with the company's overall objectives.
Represent, or identify company representative who are best suited to represent, the company at industry conferences, legislative hearings, and other public forums to convey key messages, build alliances, and gather intelligence on emerging issues.
Builds and maintains relationships with governmental representatives, policy makers, stakeholder groups, and others with the goal of advancing and promoting Savage's interests Identifies business opportunities and risks that arise from legislative, regulatory, and public policy initiatives Identifies issues of public policy and organizational importance and advise senior leaders on intersection between Savage and government related initiatives, including drafting internal and external memos and releases to generate government and public support Represents the organization in key government related forums such as industry associations, public and private councils, and advocates for organizational interests in front of administrative, regulatory and legislative bodies Build and/or participate in coalitions of like-minded industry participants on government related matters that impact industry generally Monitors, track, and report on legislative and regulatory developments that may affect organizational operations.
Prepare and deliver comments when necessary May coordinate and oversee the work of external advisors and advocates.
Build and maintain network of consultants, lobbyists, and other external resources to assist company Identify, pursue, and secure government related grant and other funding that aligns with and supports growth opportunities Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in government affairs to continually enhance the organization's approach and effectiveness Requirements/
Qualifications:
Think critically and solve problems strategically, leading to sound business decisions that balance the needs of the company, the Customer, and our Team Members Effectively communicate with Team Members, leadership, Customers, Partners and vendors Build collaborative relationships Team oriented and perform all duties in a professional and conscientious manner Excellent oral and written communication skills, including correct grammar and composition and public speaking experience Manage resources and teams to meet project deadlines and other deliverables effectively and on-time Strong working knowledge of and experience in the Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Economics, Management, Communications, or related field strongly preferred 5
years' relevant government affairs experience Knowledge and experience with government affairs activities Network of contacts that are relevant to the work expected from this role Adapts well to and initiates change inside and outside the organization Strong communication, facilitation and consensus building skills Must have the ethical and confidentiality requirements consistent with the profession and Savage Team Member Physical Requirements Work is largely in a professional office environment Must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) according to various site requirements, such as FRCs, eye, face and respiratory protection Must be able to pass background and screening requirements according to various site and customer safety and security requirements; may include drug and alcohol screenings Must have or be eligible to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Must have or be eligible to obtain a passport and any necessary travel visas Extended overnight travel by airplane and personal vehicle may be required, 30% Additional InformationThe complete job description is available upon requestSavage has been designated as a 2022 Military Friendly Employer.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
