Our Salt Lake City office is seeking a Lead Architectural Historian to support our Great Basin region, working with current staff in our Salt Lake City and Vernal offices. This is a half-time, hourly, regular (with benefits) position which will transition to a full-time position over time. The position will be located in our Salt Lake City office or may be distributed. What you will accomplish Responsible for managing or carrying out all aspects of project execution, including the following:
Design architectural historian project implementation strategies and methodologies at proposal and/or project award stages. Lead project teams to execute project strategy for architectural historian projects and tasks Independently manage stand-alone architectural history projects (both large and small) and assist other project managers in the execution of architectural history components of multi-disciplinary projects Plan and complete historic resource surveys of residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial, and institutional properties using Arc-GIS-enabled tablet computers, digital photography, and other survey methodology meeting the standards of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and other State Historic Preservation Offices. Lead QA/QC of office technical studies in support of various historic resource evaluations and nominations, Secretary of the Interior's Standards project review, and a number of other projects related to preservation planning and policy Conduct archival research, focusing on primary and secondary sources, and write historic narratives and context statements. Evaluate resources under National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria Prepare technical reports and defensible compliance documentation in support of NHPA/Section 106 consultation Prepare NRHP nominations and Multiple Property Documentation forms Develop and manage project budgets and staff Contribute to proposal and marketing efforts Maintain SWCA's high standard of technical ethics and quality assurance and ensure that project deliverables meet agency and industry standards, and be motivated to identify and resolve problems in creative ways Work closely with the Cultural Resources Director and Cultural Resource Team Lead(s) as well as project managers, directors, and principal investigators throughout the company to promote SWCA's business interests in adherence to its mission, vision, and values Assist Team Leads in business development, reviewing and responding to RFPs, and pursuing and building relationships with clients Mentor and supervise junior architectural historians in the Salt Lake City architecture team. Work with clients to identify project needs and make recommendations for management of historic resources Collaborate with SWCA's Historic Preservation Working Group and architectural historians throughout the company Anticipates and mitigates project risk Represents client at public hearings Is up to date on market trends and best practices Experience and qualifications for success Required A Master's degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation or a closely related field plus a minimum of two years experience in cultural resources management Minimum of 8 years of experience in cultural resources management A working knowledge of federal and state cultural resources and historic preservation laws and practices, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Experience surveying architectural resources at the reconnaissance and intensive level and recording information on state-specific architectural inventory forms. Familiarity with nineteenth and twentieth century commercial and residential architecture in the western United States. Demonstrated writing skills, including applying the National Register Criteria for Evaluation and preparing NRHP eligibility evaluations for architectural resources. Demonstrated track record of taking initiative and resolving problems to create improved procedures that ensure tasks are completed in an effective and efficient manner. Additional Information:
Travel may be required up to 15% of the time, or up to approximately 6 weeks per year. Successful applicant must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive on behalf of SWCA. Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Technical Project Management, Business Project Management, Other SciencesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
