Associate Attorney (Data Privacy)

Kirton McConkie a large Utah law firm has an exciting employment opportunity for an associate attorney to work on data privacy and other matters in its.
International Section.
Qualified candidates should have demonstrated interest in or experience with data privacy issues.
Two to five years of legal practice and experience with EU GDPR or other international data privacy laws is strongly preferred.
If selected the candidate would support Kirton McConkies clients in complying with domestic and foreign data privacy laws including by working closely with foreign counsel to understand relevant laws advising on data privacy compliance for international activities creating data privacy strategies and operational guidelines and drafting data privacyrelated legal documents.
Attorneys would also be expected to assist with other matters in the International Section in addition to data privacy work including preparing international contracts and working on crossborder transactions.
Candidates must have excellent academic credentials demonstrate a commitment to ethics be highly motivated and hardworking be a good communicator and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Candidates must be a member of the Utah Bar or be willing to become a member of the Utah Bar.
If not currently a member of the Utah Bar applicants must be a member of the bar of another state in the United States.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
